The treatment in detail

The protocol is a drainage, not a stroke. The movements start as deep pressure on the points where lymph stagnates, then lighten into circular movements up to the surface. It is the sequence that produces the effect, not the gentleness.

Forty minutes, no device, no active product: the hand works and nothing else. The face de-puffs, features relax, the complexion regains colour because blood circulates better.

Kobido is an old Japanese technique, and the word is often used for anything at all. Here, the session is the one described above: a forty-minute drainage of the face and neck.

It is the treatment that suits best before an event when the skin needs nothing but the face is puffy on waking.

You can expect…

A de-puffed face, sharper features, a complexion that has regained colour.

The effect lasts two to three days. As a weekly course it carries from one session to the next and the jaw relaxes for good.

Frequently asked questions

Does it hurt?

The first pressures are deep and are felt, especially on a clenched jaw. Nothing should actually hurt: the therapist adjusts the pressure.

Do I need to remove make-up?

Yes, the session starts with a cleanse. You leave without make-up, worth planning for if the day continues.

How is it different from a facial?

No active products here, no extraction. Kobido works on circulation and muscles, not on the surface of the skin.

How long does the effect last?

Two to three days after a session. A month-long course, one session a week, sets a steadier result.

Contraindications
  • ENT or dental infection in progress
  • Active cold sore outbreak
  • Hyaluronic acid or toxin injection less than fifteen days ago
