The treatment in detail
High-intensity focused ultrasound heats precise points beneath the skin. The tissue contracts, and collagen production restarts around those points.
A session runs from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the areas treated, with no anaesthetic. You feel tingling and brief warmth as the handpiece passes. The skin may stay flushed for a few hours. There is no bruising or swelling to plan around, and nothing that stops you going back to your day.
The Ultraformer III works at three depths, chosen area by area: 1.5 mm for skin quality, 3 mm for the deep dermis, 4.5 mm for the plane that holds the jawline. On a pronounced double chin, a 6 mm handpiece reaches the hypodermis and targets fat.
The consultation beforehand sets the depths, the number of lines per area, and checks the contraindications. HIFU works on early to moderate laxity: it is not a substitute for a surgical facelift, and the outcome depends on age and skin quality.
You can expect…
A tightening effect is noticeable at the end of the session. Collagen then rebuilds over 2 to 3 months, and the result keeps settling in during that time. It fades with time: the maintenance rhythm is decided at the consultation, not in advance.
