Dermo-camouflage

Dermo-camouflage is corrective dermopigmentation. Using a dermograph and single-use needles, a pigment matched to your skin tone is deposited in the upper dermis to even out the colour of a white stretch mark or a depigmented scar. The treatment works on colour, not on texture.

The treatment in detail

It starts with a consultation: we assess your phototype, the colour, depth and age of the marks, check for contraindications, then mix a matching shade. A patch test on a discreet area shows how your skin reacts and how the pigment settles before we treat the whole area.

The area is cleansed and disinfected, and a numbing cream is applied if needed. The pigment is then implanted stroke by stroke into the mark, at the epidermis dermis junction. Depending on the state of the skin, a micro-perforation phase may precede the camouflage to stimulate collagen and elastin. A session lasts 1 to 3 hours depending on the surface, and 1 to 3 sessions are usually needed.

After the session, a healing cream is applied for several days. Sun, sauna, swimming pool, friction and irritating products are to be avoided while the skin heals.

Dermo-camouflage is done on stable, white, non-inflammatory stretch marks. Recent red stretch marks call for a different approach. The treatment is not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding, on active skin disease in the area, with impaired healing, a history of keloid scarring, a known allergy to pigments or local anaesthetics, or shortly after isotretinoin treatment. We go through all of this together at the consultation.

The price depends on the size of the area treated: size S, 150 € to 200 €; size M, 250 € to 300 €; size XL, 350 € to 500 €. A session on arm scars sits at around 400 €, for example. Since every skin and every project is different, the exact amount is settled at the consultation, which is also where we mix the pigment blend for your skin tone.

The treatment, filmed

You can expect…

The aim is to reduce the contrast between the mark and the surrounding skin. The stretch mark does not disappear: its relief and texture stay as they are, only the colour is evened out.

The colour settles over 4 to 6 weeks. That is when we decide together whether a touch-up is needed. The pigment is semi-permanent: it fades over time and with sun exposure, and a maintenance touch-up is planned according to how it evolves.
